The story of "Feed my Dragon!"
Our story starts on a train journey...
Our story starts on a train journey, from Sussex to London, on a sunny autumnal day in 2025. We didn't have anything particularly planned, just a Daddy/Daughter day around one of the world's great cities. As we settled into our seats (double seats AND a table!) Annabelle pulled out a pack of cards from her handbag and suggested a game.
We started with "Beat my neighbour" a fun game that my Mum taught me back in the 1970's, but one which (disappointingly) depends entirely on chance. Soon we were each making suggestions about how we could improve the game... adding in some skill elements and the delicious idea of feeding dragons!
Things bubbled along for the next hour or so, and by the time we arrived in London "Feed my Dragon!" had been born.
And it was REALLY fun, even with just the two of us playing. So over the coming months I purchased some blank cards and mocked up what the game might look like... we tried it out at family gatherings... in pub gardens... with neighbours... at games evenings... even round the Christmas table after the turkey!
It was easy to learn, fast to play, and it always caused lots of laughter. People really seemed to like it. We gently tweaked the rules until it seemed (to us) to be the perfect balance between laughter, luck and skill, and by the spring of 2026 we had persuaded our son-in-law Jack Dalehurst to join the team and do the illustrations for us.
We found a brilliant printer in Amersham (HartGraph) who could make perfectly round cards for us (which is suprisingly hard!) and a King's Awarded supplier of tins from Bristol (Tinware).
As a team we decided to have everything printed and produced in the UK to support local jobs and creative industries. It does mean that the sets cost a little more to make, but it means that everything is top quality and made exactly how we want it.
So here it is..."Feed my Dragon!" We hope you and your family enjoy it as much as we have loved making it!

Thank you for being part of our journey!
Warmest regards,
Julian, Hilary & Annabelle Dale

Once we had got the gameplay exactly right, we needed an illustrator...and there could only be one choice: Jack Dalehurst, illustrator, musician, animator and (coveniently!) husband to our eldest daughter Katie!
Jack's brilliant imagination, humour and skilled pen-work are the perfect blend for the game, and as we have worked together over the last year our admiration for his gifts has grown and grown.
Jack is a brilliant team player, and if you want anything illustrated, get in contact with him using the contact form at the bottom of this page?
Jack has illustrated Dungeon & Dragon Character potraits, Christmas cards, wedding invites, a Graphic novel called "Rat King" and endless pictures of their two cats : Minty Espionage and Celeriac Joe.
His band is called "Bobby Mandala's Midnight Elite" and is availible on Spotify. (We think "Boatparty" is a huge hit just waiting to be found!)
Our brilliant Illustrator
(&Son-in-law),
Jack Dalehurst.

Coming soon...
'Knights & Wizards"
Expansion Pack!
Some Knights are brave and strong and love to vanquish dragons...but frankly, some are not... Some Wizards can cast powerful spells...but, then again, some are pretty hopeless!
Our current plans for our new expansion pack will include a new family of dragons, 8 Knights and 8 Wizards, which will add layers of extra skill and strategy, and a whole heap of extra fun!
